space is a pop-up - a temporary response to the critical moment we are in, a site in which to gather, create and practice together again.  Many people, much luck and hard work have made it possible for us to share it with you.  From now to mid-November it is a kind of home.   And after that, we'll have to see what happens.
Located in the heart of Bloordale Village, space is on a quiet residential street that runs south to Bloor between Dufferin and Landsdowne stations. You’ll find it in the lower unit of a newly renovated Salvation Army building, with stair access toward the rear of the lot.  Close to parks, cafés, restaurants and shops.  Some bike parking on site (to come!).  Green P parking a half-block south.
We are inviting rentals from artists who are interested in using space for movement-based creation, research, rehearsal, practice, and small classes. With a spirit of openness, shared respect for each other, the space itself, and our neighbours, we wish it to be a welcoming generative space for all who enter.  This care includes a mindfulness of current provincial health and safety guidelines surrounding Covid-19.
Special thanks to Asad Raza, Brandy Leary & Anandam dancetheatre, Laurence Lemieux & the Citadel, Jarrett Siddall, Andrew McCormack, Brodie Stevenson, and Corinne McCabe.

Health and Safety
We will adhere to strict Covid-19 guidelines including:  mask-wearing, maintaining a 6ft distance, and hand-sanitizing and sanitizing surfaces on departure from the space. On entry to the space, a screening form will need to be completed for contact tracing.
The space is located between Dufferin and Landsdowne (St. Clarens exit) stations.  Dufferin station is accessible
Brock Avenue runs southbound. The space is accessed through a gate on the west side of the street, and down a short flight of stairs to the lower level on the building’s northwest side. You enter directly into the studio (32’x28’).  Bathrooms, change area and storage are at the far end of the space. Bathrooms are not accessible.
The newly renovated space is in a residential neighbourhood, with tenants living above.   For privacy, windows have a translucent film.  Sensitivity to sound levels is required in using the space.
We are grateful to have this space, even temporarily. We are grateful for the land on which it sits, the land on which we work - on which we dance - the land that is traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.  We extend our deepest respects to all First Nations people, their ancestors past and present, and future.
